Swiss Lakes Challenge

The Hospice is the main charitable work of our mother ashram Skanda Vale — a free palliative care hospice, founded by the ashram and run largely by volunteers.

On 12th September, sixteen people travelled to Somaskanda and walked fifteen kilometres across the Swiss Alps to help raise funds to support it. It took them seven hours, carried them over two passes above 2,700m, and half the group finished the day by swimming in a 5°C glacial lake.

Between them they are raising money towards the hospice’s hope of one day offering care around the clock. That care has always been free to the families who need it, and always will be.
