Retreat and contemplation
Take a break from the challenges of your every day life and get spiritually refreshed.
You are also Guru… You are Guru… You do not know you are Guru.
You only look at your superficial self and say – I’ve a long way to go, as long a way as you want it.
No! You are the person who is putting the time factor. You are the person who is saying tomorrow. You are the person who is making it difficult for yourself.
I want you to be liberated in this life.
I want you to be able to use all the material resources that you have and can earn for yourself, not only for yourself but for the well being of mankind.
Work and worship the Lord. Use your resources to help people.
A retreat helps us to step back from our daily life and reflect on many aspects of living. A retreat is about learning to develop and maintain an experience of the Divine in normal everyday life.
During the retreat, you will be taking part in the daily pujas (worship) and helping with the daily chores in and around the house (selfless service/seva), thus becoming part of the community. Throughout the day you will often have opportunities to talk with the resident temple team (monks and nuns from the monastic community of Skanda Vale in Wales, UK) about spiritual and other issues (satsang). Walks in the breathtaking mountain scenery and individual spiritual practice (sadhana) will harmoniously balance the day.
A retreat works on many levels. Quite often it happens that just when we are carrying out a simple task or singing self-forgettingly with the community, divine grace infuses the room, untangling the pressures, fears and emotional knots that we all carry with us. Freed from this unwanted baggage, we return to our lives spiritually refreshed and with renewed focus.
